Honeysmack is the stage name of David Haberfeld, an influential electronic music producer, live performer, and DJ from Melbourne, Australia. He’s been a leading figure in Australia’s acid house, techno, and electronic dance music scene for over 25 years. Haberfeld’s work as Honeysmack is known for energetic, hardware-based live performances that blend acid techno, electro, and experimental sounds, often improvised using classic Roland drum machines and synthesizers rather than pre-recorded tracks. He gained respect across both the rock and electronic circuits in the 1990s with his punk-influenced approach and has released numerous albums and singles, including the notable track Walk On Acid, which was nominated for an ARIA Award. Honeysmack continues to perform live electronic sets and is recognised for pushing creative boundaries in the Australian electronic music landscape.
