Bio
Imminence is a Swedish metalcore band formed in 2009 in Trelleborg, Sweden, by vocalist and violinist Eddie Berg and guitarist Harald Barrett. Over time, the lineup expanded to include Alex Arnoldsson (guitar), Christian Höijer (bass), and Peter Hanström (drums). Rising from Sweden’s underground scene, the band became known for blending atmospheric and orchestral elements—often featuring Berg’s violin—with the intensity of modern metalcore. Their early EPs and debut album I (2012) showcased their melodic sensibility, while later albums such as This Is Goodbye (2017), Turn the Light On (2019), and Heaven in Hiding (2021) established them internationally. Imminence’s music explores themes of inner struggle, hope, spirituality, and emotional depth, pairing aggressive riffs and breakdowns with soaring melodies and cinematic arrangements. By the mid-2020s, they had built a strong global following through streaming platforms and extensive touring across Europe, North America, and Asia, solidifying their reputation as one of Sweden’s leading modern metalcore exports.
