Bio
The Inadequates are a high-energy acoustic trio from the Gold Coast who bring a fresh, modern edge to folk and indie traditions. Armed with banjo, mandolin, guitar, accordion, and soaring three-part harmonies, they craft intricate arrangements that are as captivating as they are danceable. Known for their vibrant stage presence — often dressed in bright suits — the band pushes the limits of acoustic instrumentation, blending raw energy with heartfelt storytelling. Drawing inspiration from acts like Punch Brothers, Nickel Creek, and Mumford & Sons, The Inadequates have built a reputation for delivering powerful live performances across festivals and venues nationwide. With original songs such as Genevieve and Lethe River already making waves, and their debut album on the horizon, The Inadequates are quickly establishing themselves as one of Australia’s most exciting contemporary folk acts.
