Bio
Sampology is the stage name of Sam Poggioli, an Australian DJ, producer, and radio host from Brisbane (Meanjin). Active for over a decade, he is known for blending electronic music with jazz, soul, and hip-hop influences, creating atmospheric tracks that combine live instrumentation, sampling, and club rhythms. Sampology began DJing in Brisbane clubs as a teenager and later toured internationally across Europe, Asia, and North America. Over time he expanded from DJ sets into production and composition, releasing projects such as Natural Selections (2016), Mt Glorious (2018), and the album Regrowth. His work often features collaborations with soul and jazz musicians, and he has also hosted a radio show on Worldwide FM while running his own label, Middle Name Records. His sound is widely recognized within Australia’s underground electronic and jazz-influenced music scenes for its mix of sample-based production, organic instrumentation, and groove-focused rhythms.
