Bio
Milou Moon is a psychedelic rock and dream pop music project based in Naarm (Melbourne), Victoria, Australia, led by French-American musician Emily McGill (she/her). Originally from Chicago, USA, Emily now lives and creates in Melbourne, where she blends lush vocal melodies with hypnotic guitars, swirling synths, and rich, harmony-laden soundscapes inspired by classic psych rock and modern neo-psych artists. Milou Moon’s music draws from the psychedelic movement of the 1960s and 70s, as well as contemporary dream psych and shoegaze influences, weaving ethereal vocals, textured instrumentals, and occasionally bilingual lyrics (English and French) to create immersive sonic worlds. Their debut EP Trails to Centre was released in March 2024, featuring a mix of dreamy psych-rock tracks that helped establish the project’s sound and local profile in Melbourne’s music scene. Milou Moon has since released music including singles like Circles and the Rêverie EP, and has performed live throughout Victoria and beyond, including US shows supporting their growing fanbase.
